ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (TS/SCI W/ CI POLY)

Location:

Fairfax, VA

Duties:

  • Development and production of engineering construction documents, and the design and specification of lighting, power distribution, and medium and low voltage systems.
  • Provides electrical engineering support and conducts activities related to short- and long-term infrastructure planning and capital improvement construction projects.
  • Advises and works with customers to analyze, design and complete facilities design and support construction projects.
  • Designs power, lighting, and electrical distribution systems for Government buildings.
  • Designs and prepares electrical construction documents and specifications for building renovations and new construction projects.
  • Performs calculations for lighting, power equipment, distribution, conductor sizing, fault calculations and coordination of electrical devices and overall system.
  • Prepares construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD software platforms to produce Federal, State and Local Code compliant designs.
  • Performs field investigation of existing conditions for new and renovation projects.
  • Participates in walk-through of completed projects and prepare punch lists.
  • Applies engineering principles and methodology to translate customer requirements into feasible options that meet expectations regarding scope, resources and cost.
  • Helps maintain relevant facility electrical design and configuration documentation and records.
  • Researches technologies related to facilities, shares learning with others and trains personnel regarding operation and maintenance of assets.
  • Utilizes leadership abilities and client maintenance skills.
  • Works with the Architectural, Mechanical engineering, IT and other disciplines, and work as part of a design team to provide the electrical design to meet the building, equipment and systems requirements and standards.
  • Meets with customers to develop design requirements and refine project Scope of Work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant experience

Security Clearance:

  • Prefer TS/SCI w/ CI Poly
  • Will consider TS/SCI candidate with ability to pass a CI Poly
