Over the last year, the Lion Federal Pride has delivered outstanding services to our customers and partners during what has been a very trying time around the world. As the economy and nation begins to recover, we are strategically positioning Lion Federal to grow into new areas of the Federal Government while simultaneously expanding our teams with our existing customers. As part of our growth strategy, Lion Federal opened a new office in downtown Washington, DC at 1616 H Street NW to create a stronger presence and closer engagements in our Nation’s capital.
This month, Lion Federal welcomes Zeena Alani as the newest member to the executive team. Zeena is a Human Resources specialist and is supporting human resources and recruitment, train and retain the best talent so we continue to deliver exceptional service to the government. This month, six Lion Federal employees received the first ever awards for Outstanding Customer Service. Each of our recipients were recognized by our customers for their leadership, performance and dedication throughout 2020 during what has been an extremely trying time. The back-office team worked hard throughout this past year to get develop standards and processes using technology that will make the organization moving forward efficiently. As the pandemic is requiring lockdowns, Lion Federal is still making moves! By partnering with Paycom to use the latest timesheets, payroll and HR services, Lion Federal is taking the next in a series of steps to improve the quality-of-service employees receive, and to ensure the best support is available throughout these difficult times and beyond. Pride Champions and Managers lead the way in ensuring their respective teams receive the best services possible.
Lion Federal and Ventera have formed a mentor-protégé relationship and started a Joint Venture to pursue opportunities together, bringing complimentary and quality services to government. The relationship with Ventera through DigiCloud Services LLC will open up new opportunities for the Lion Federal team, and build upon our recent success across the federal government.
Lion Federal and Ventera are currently in discussion to form a strategic partnership to pursue federal government work in the coming years. Already an outstanding company in its own right, Ventera brings to the table a suite of services that would allow Lion Federal to explore new opportunities with the Federal Government.
Lion Federal named eight of its senior staff as either Pride Champions or Pride Managers – these individuals will collaborate to ensure Lion Federal employees feel engaged, deliver quality work, and engage with the customer in a way that reflects our professionalism and high standards. The Lion Federal Back-Office Team volunteered with FACETS to distribute food to the homeless in Fairfax County. The team used a FACETS van loaded with pizza, fruit and water to deliver more than 120 meals to those in need. The team was honored to be part of such a great cause. Lion Federal developed application, Automated Export System Direct (AESDirect), goes live to all trade users. Thousands of users are now able to file their exports with US Census and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) through this Lion Federal modernized application. The trade can now login into the CBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system, and go directly into AESDirect to file their export information. This application was built for both the US Census for statistical purposes and for CBP to screen exports.
Lion Federal team has been working diligently at Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to design, develop, and deliver a trade facing application. This application allows the trade to file their exports with Census and CBP. After a little over a year of development, the application went live to the trade right after Thanksgiving. Census is encouraging their thousands of users to switch over from the legacy system to this modernized platform. This is a big win for the Lion Federal team, which continues to get praises from their customer and the trade for the modernization!

Lion Federal was approved as a sub-contractor after delivering on technical resource needs to a Fortune 500 Company. In addition, Lion Federal became an approved resource provider for all their other contracts at DHS.
